On Thursdays, the international Rosary followed by Eucharistic Adoration begins at 5.45 pm, followed by Holy Mass at 6.30 pm. On Saturdays, the Vigil Mass is celebrated at 5.30 pm, and on Sundays, Holy Mass is celebrated at 11.15 am, followed by a morning get-together.

Confession is available up to 15 minutes before the start of services or by appointment.

The Templo Ecuménico is situated on Avenida Italia in Playa del Inglés. If you’re coming by taxi, the easiest thing to do is to tell the driver to take you to the Hotel Maritim Playa.

Baptisms, Weddings and Pastoral Care

Anyone wishing to have a Catholic wedding or have a child baptised in Gran Canaria must plan well in advance: the preparations are carried out in conjunction with your home parish and require sufficient lead time. Milestone birthdays and wedding anniversaries can also be celebrated during a church service on request.

The chaplain is available for hospital visits, the Anointing of the Sick, as well as in the event of accidents and bereavements. There is a dedicated emergency number for this purpose.

As well as church services, the programme includes prayer and Bible study groups, discussion evenings and outings.

Jurisdiction over the eastern islands

The Bishop of the Canary Islands, whose diocese comprises Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, works in partnership with the German Bishops‘ Conference to provide pastoral care for German-speaking communities. The parish in Playa del Inglés is therefore the main Catholic point of contact for German-speaking people on the eastern Canary Islands.

You can find an overview of all German-speaking municipalities in the Canary Islands on our overview page on the Canary Islands‘ municipalities.
