Almogrote and smoky mojo shape the dining scene on La Gomera

As at August 2026 (updated regularly)

La Gomera has developed its own culinary tradition, which differs markedly from that of the other Canary Islands. Almogrote, the spicy cheese spread from Valle Gran Rey, and the smoky mojo made from locally grown chillies feature prominently on the menus of small family-run establishments as well as those of the newer restaurants in San Sebastián. Anyone wishing to explore the island’s culinary scene will find a guide here, organised by location and culinary style.
