Around 40,000 visitors have already visited the wine museum in the north of Tenerife this year. Before the pandemic, visitor numbers stood at just under 45,000. So the record could still be broken – even though tourists stayed away for a long time.
The „Casa del Vino“ has adapted to current circumstances and is now attracting more and more locals. The wine museum provides information about wine-growing on the island. There is all sorts of interesting information to be found – from historical details right up to the present day.
As well as the „Casa del Vino“, visitors can also admire the „Casa del Miel“ on the site. The museum is dedicated to Tenerife’s blossom honey. Furthermore, the wine museum’s tasting room is becoming increasingly popular. According to the museum, demand has been particularly high this year.
„Casa del Vino“ invites you to a picnic in the vineyard
This is one of the reasons why the „Casa del Vino“ has expanded its tasting programme. As part of the new „Entre Viñedos“ (among the vineyards) offering, visitors can enjoy an outdoor picnic. Regional produce is sampled right in the middle of the vineyard. Barrels and stools have been set up for the new offering, so that visitors can make themselves comfortable.
All of Tenerife’s grape varieties are grown in the museum’s vineyard. Visitors can use their smartphones to scan various QR codes and find out in detail about the distinctive characteristics of each variety.
Bookings can be made by calling 922 572 535. Further information is available on the museum’s website.
By the way: Not far from the Casa del Vino is the Mirador La Baranda. It is considered one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island. You can find all the information and some impressions of the picturesque view here in our post on Mirador La Baranda.
