Wooden balconies and flower carpets in La Orotava

The town above the north coast is known for the Casa de los Balcones, the Liceo de Taoro gardens and the sand and flower artworks laid out on the town hall square for Corpus Christi.

The ‚Balcones‘ are small architectural marvels. Looking at some of them, one wonders how they were secured so long ago and have managed to survive to this day.

Work has begun on setting up the nativity scene on the town hall square in La Orotava.

The flower gardens at the Liceo de Taoro are a lovely place to linger, whilst the manor house is the perfect spot for a coffee.

It is not just the view of Mount Teide that is ever-present in La Orotava: the route up also takes you through this small town in the north of Tenerife.
