Carnival on Tenerife

Carla Castro Castellano crowned Carnival Queen of Tenerife 2026

Her fantasy costume 'Icónica' by designer Alexis Santana won the gala at the Recinto Ferial. Arlena Rubí Mantecón Hernández came second and Cecilia Esther Díaz Hernández third. The winning creation will feature in the main parade through Santa Cruz.

The grand gala to crown the Carnival Queen of Tenerife has produced a clear winner: Carla Castro Castellano, in her ‚Icónica‘ gown, is the Reina de Carnaval of Tenerife. This means that the world’s second-largest carnival has officially found its leader for 2026.

At the grand gala to crown the Carnival Queen, Carla Castro came out on top against her rivals. Sponsored by McDonald’s and El Dia, Alexis Santana once again created a winning dress.

This trio of sponsors and designers had already produced Tenerife’s Carnival Queen in the past. And so, after the gala, there was a lively celebration. Who else was chosen as part of the Carnival Queen’s entourage:

Arlena Rubí Mantecón Hernández came second. She is therefore automatically named first bridesmaid. The young woman modelled the ‚Luminis‘ dress by designer Santi Castro. She is followed by the second bridesmaid, Cecilia Esther Díaz Hernández, who came third. She modelled the ‚Dreams of Glass‘ dress by designer Sedomir Rodríguez.

Next came Daniela Sánchez Padilla, wearing „Atamande“ by Santana Carnival. Finally, Alianara León Hernández was named the fourth bridesmaid, wearing „From your hell to my heaven“. The dress was designed by Yosué Riverol.

This was the gala to elect the Reina de Carnaval in Tenerife

The gala began punctually at 9.30 pm at the exhibition centre, with the venue plunged into complete darkness. Then an image generated by AI appeared on the screens in the hall. One of the highlights of the Tenerife Carnival was finally kicked off with a veritable explosion of colour.

Singer Naomi was lowered from the ceiling onto the stage, whilst a variety of performances and confetti cannons got the audience – both in the venue and watching at home – really fired up. Then, at last, the actual competition began.

Designer Alexis Santana once again took the honours. Carla Castro Castellano has therefore been confirmed as the Reina de Carnaval of Tenerife. Her costume, ‚Icónica‘, will be on display at various events, including the grand carnival parade through Tenerife’s capital, Santa Cruz. The key dates for the carnival in Tenerife are listed below:
