El Tanque
El Tanque owes its name to history: in the 16th century, the locals created a large lake. This reservoir (Spanish: ‚Tanque‘) was built to irrigate the sugar cane plantations and vineyards. From 1540 onwards, buildings and a chapel were gradually erected. The chapel is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of the poor and the sick. The village is part of the Isla Baja district and can be reached via a winding country road. You can find all the latest news and information about El Tanque above.
