The production by laGodot esCénica brings together classical and contemporary texts on stage. It features verses by female authors of the Siglo de Oro, including Ana Abarca de Bolea, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Leonor de la Cueva y Silva, Ana Caro and María de Zayas. These texts enter into dialogue with the prose of women from the Spanish Civil War.
The central theme of the play is women's struggle for freedom. The production draws on suppressed voices from various eras and relates them to the present day. In doing so, the play blends dramatic text with performance and is complemented by live music.
The performance will take place at the Auditorio de Antigua in Antigua, Fuerteventura. The show begins at 20:30 and lasts 90 minutes. Tickets can be booked via ecoentradas.
