At the heart of the story is Isora, who returns to her roots whilst in the midst of a crisis. The starting point is a family tree full of letters in which the voices of past generations are preserved. A personal quest turns into a journey through different eras, in which the past and the present become intertwined.
Guided by these letters, Isora enters the world of the Generación del 27 and encounters both its light and dark sides. In doing so, she discovers how closely her own story is linked to this legacy. On this journey through memory, identity and artistic creation, she must ask herself who she is and what place she occupies in the history she herself is writing.
Aluzar Escénica describes 'Cartas' as a play with a strong identity and sensibility from the Canary Islands. The performance is intended as an ode to memory, to the land and to the need not to forget who we are. It will be staged at the Teatro Auditorio Agüimes. The performance begins at 20:00, ends at 21:00 and is recommended for audience members aged twelve and over.
