The programme runs from 6 October to 24 November 2026, every Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00. It takes place at the Club Municipal de Mayores in Santa Brígida, Gran Canaria. The series is organised by the local council's Social and Senior Citizens' Department in collaboration with the Senior Citizens' Centre.
The programme focuses on three forms of group work. Laughter therapy uses games, physical expression, deliberately induced laughter and breathing exercises. Play therapy uses play as a means of expressing thoughts, fears and conflicts, and of strengthening social skills. Music therapy uses music, rhythm and sound to promote emotional, mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Among other things, these individual approaches are designed to promote relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, improve communication and group cohesion, and stimulate memory, attention and motor coordination. The programme is primarily aimed at club members. If places are available, members of the general public may also take part.
