The workshop forms part of the 'Artesanía Viva' training programme, through which the La Gomera Island Council aims to strengthen and modernise the island's craft sector. The programme as a whole combines the preservation of traditional crafts with new demands arising from the market, marketing and digital transformation. In addition to face-to-face sessions and practical workshops, the programme also includes digital content and learning support via a virtual campus.
The module in Vallehermoso will take place on Wednesday 21 October and Thursday 22 October 2026, from 16:30 to 19:30 on both days. The content focuses on Canary Islands craft techniques, the preservation of traditional knowledge, and the further development of methods and skills for contemporary professional practice.
'Artesanía Viva' is aimed at people who hold the craftsperson's certificate issued by the La Gomera Island Council. Registration can be done in person at the Academia Axón or by telephone on 922 87 18 56, Monday to Sunday from 8:00 to 20:00. The module is part of an island-wide training programme taking place between May and November in various municipalities across La Gomera.
