Soraia Cardoso is performing as part of the 10th Festival de Fado de Canarias in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Every autumn, the festival brings the sounds of Lisbon fado to the Canary Islands. At the Teatro Circo de Marte, the Portuguese artist will sing a selection from her repertoire to date as well as from her debut album.
Cardoso is one of Portugal's younger, well-known fado singers. In 2018, she came third on The Voice Portugal, becoming the first fado singer to reach that stage in the programme. In 2019, she was honoured with the award for best emerging female artist at the third Fado Gala organised by A Voz do Operário, and at the same time began performing in fado houses in Lisbon.
She has already performed at events such as the Festival Santa Casa Alfama, the Super Bock em Stock music festival, the Rádio Festival anniversary at the Coliseu do Porto, and at the Teatro Sá da Bandeira. Since 2023, she has been part of the Fado sem Fim project, mentored by Aldina Duarte. This initially led to a recital at the Museu do Fado and, in 2024, the recording of two fados for a collaborative album. Between 2022 and 2024, she sang at the Sr. Vinho fado house under the artistic direction of Maria da Fé. She is currently affiliated with the Fado ao Carmo and Fama d'Alfama fado houses.
In September 2024, Soraia Cardoso also made her debut in the revue E ninguém vai preso?! at the Teatro Maria Vitória. She presented her debut album in June 2025 in the small auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon.
