The Festival Internacional Clownbaret returns to La Laguna in 2026, where, following an opening day at the Teatro Leal on 3 October, it will continue with its street performances. On Friday 9 October, the Plaza del Cristo will host two performances.
At 17:30, CIA. CUROLLES will present '¡Tot bé!'. The focus is on two eccentric characters who, taking the traditional spinning top as their starting point, develop a game with endless possibilities. Among other things, the performance features a wheelbarrow, a ladder, targets, plenty of rope, sawdust and handmade spinning tops. The piece measures success and failure by the audience's reactions.
At 18:30, 'Ni Fú ni fá' by LA BUFFA follows in the Plaza del Cristo. The piece draws on humour from a female perspective and replaces classic princess archetypes with buffoon characters. In doing so, the production explores new forms that lie between clown and buffoon.
On Saturday 10 October, 'Con su Permiso' by MIMO TUGA begins at 17:30. The performance takes the audience from Calle Viana to the Plaza del Cristo. Tuga works with improvisation and direct interaction with the audience, transforming the street into a dynamic performance space.
