Mass and procession in honour of the Virgen del Pilar
The celebration in La Escalona combines a Holy Mass in honour of the Virgen del Pilar with a solemn procession afterwards. It forms part of the programme of events for La Pilarica 2026 and is open to anyone who wishes to take part in the religious celebrations of the village festival. Afterwards, the evening continues with a grand dance in the Plaza Vieja.

The religious part of La Pilarica 2026 begins in La Escalona with a Holy Mass in honour of Our Lady, the Virgen del Pilar. This is immediately followed by the solemn procession through the village. Both events form part of the festival's Sunday programme.
The Comisión de Fiestas Santiago Apóstol from La Escalona is responsible for the festival programme. After the Mass and the procession, the evening does not end with the religious part: at 20:30, the grand dance in the Plaza Vieja is scheduled as part of the festival programme.
