Iulia Gupalo, born in 1992, has been living on Tenerife since 2013 and is exhibiting her watercolours in 'Luz de isla' at the Sala de Exposiciones in El Sauzal. The artist was trained in the classical Russian academic tradition, which is founded on accurate drawing and technical precision.
Since moving to the island, she has developed her painting into a contemporary exploration of the landscape. Her works draw on volcanic landscapes and the light of the Atlantic. In the GUPALEVA project, she views landscape not as a decorative motif, but as a lived experience, with a focus on atmosphere, spatial rhythm and the relationship between structure and emotion.
The opening will take place on Friday, 9 October 2026, at 19:00. The exhibition will be on display until Sunday, 25 October, in the Sala de Exposiciones at El Sauzal, opposite the town hall steps. It is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 18:00 to 20:00. Admission is free.
