The programme is entitled 'De la claridad al fuego' and spans more than a century of piano music. The concert opens with Mozart's Rondo in F major, K. 494. This is followed by Debussy's 'La plus que lente' and, from 'Images, Book II', the pieces 'Cloches à travers les feuilles', 'Et la lune descend sur le temple qui fut' and 'Poissons d'or'. The first half concludes before the interval with Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 31, Op. 110.
The second half features Ravel's 'Menuet antique', Glazunov's 'Idyll', Op. 103, Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 4, Op. 30, and Rachmaninoff's Piano Sonata No. 2, Op. 36, in the 1931 version. The selection of works ranges from classical clarity, through timbres and atmospheric imagery, to late-Romantic expressiveness and virtuosity.
