Where to find the best churros on Tenerife

From La Laguna to Los Cristianos, five churrerías stand out for their dough, their dipping chocolate and their portions. One of them even serves them filled.

For some, they’re a high-calorie „holiday indulgence“; for others, an essential snack: churros. These long, star-shaped choux pastries are a staple of an afternoon get-together in many regions of Spain. Or they can be served as a dessert to round off a perfect meal. And in Tenerife, too, churros are an indispensable treat.

Many bars only serve churros on public holidays or at other special occasions. However, there are also cafés that specialise in churros. Just as with Berliner doughnuts back home, the same applies to churros under the Tenerife sun: the quality varies.

So who makes the best churros? We’ve tried them all out and compared our findings with customer reviews. The result is our very own list of the best churrerías on Tenerife. And here it is:

These are, in our opinion, the best churros on Tenerife

In the north of Tenerife, more specifically in La Laguna, you’ll find the Churrería Cafetería Buen Paladar. Not only are the churros delicious, but so is the chocolate for dipping. Opening times and directions can be found in the entry in our restaurant database here.

Not far from our favourite churrería is Casa Churro – also in La Laguna. The difference compared to traditional churros is that at Casa Churro, these delicacies are filled. So whilst this means they’re no longer a classic treat, you’ll have forgotten all about that after just the first bite. We promise! You can find the opening times and directions here.

Let’s take a look a little further south. In Candelaria, you’ll find the Churrería El Guanche. It’s not just the taste that’s impressive – the portions are generous and the prices are low. As the quality is spot on, this is definitely worth highlighting. Churros are available daily at Avenida de la Constitución 3.

You can also find excellent churros in the south: the Churrería Marcos in Los Cristianos serves up this treat in excellent quality. When and where can you order them? Find out here!

La Churrería in Puerto de la Cruz doesn’t specialise in sweet treats alone. They also serve hearty sandwiches and more. And contrary to the assumption that only specialist establishments serve excellent churros, they are superb at La Churrería. Our recommendation is clear: you simply must try them! We’ll tell you when and where right here.
