In the mornings, the fishing harbour at Morro Jable brings the catch to the quay, and the restaurants in the old town centre serve it up just a few hours later. The village on the southern tip of Fuerteventura is divided into a harbour district with Canary Islands tavernas and a strip of hotels stretching towards Jandía Playa. Almost all of the 12 best restaurants in Morro Jable are situated above the quay. ‚Somos fritos‘ on Calle Diputado Manuel Velázquez Cabrera has a rating of 4.8 stars from 134 reviews. ‚Restaurante La Puntilla Casa Menso‘ on Peatonal Balandro has garnered 2,447 reviews and remains the neighbourhood’s go-to spot.
Fish, tapas and prices: What you need to know
A main course in the harbour district usually costs between 10 and 20 euros, whilst the ‚menú del día‘ at lunchtime costs between 10 and 14 euros for a three-course meal including a drink. Things really get going between 2 pm and 4 pm; local restaurants don’t open until 9 pm in the evening.
