The route forms part of the 'Paisajes con historia' series, which aims to showcase Fuerteventura's cultural heritage. This time, the route winds through old Puerto Cabras, the former name of Puerto del Rosario, and links the historic town centre with the harbour area.
During the walking tour, participants will learn how the island's capital has developed in terms of urban planning and as a trading centre. The route takes in old streets, the harbour and distinctive buildings that shaped the daily lives of the former residents of Puerto Cabras. This brings an important part of Majorcan cultural heritage into focus.
Participation is free of charge. Registration opens on 1 October via the Patrimonio Cultural de Fuerteventura website. To facilitate travel, the Fuerteventura Island Council will provide a bus service from Gran Tarajal, Tuineje and Antigua upon request.
