Mar Mar Teatro is staging the family play «Elara. Un viaje a las estrellas» at the Auditorio Insular de Fuerteventura. The story centres on Elara, who is searching for her late grandmother in a place where no one else would look: amongst planets, comets and galaxies. Drawing on this story, Mar Mar Teatro has created a family play that does not shy away from the subject of death, but instead explores it in an accessible way.
The production relies on poetic language rather than didactic explanations and takes a distinctly educational approach. Grief is portrayed as a journey on which Elara seeks to discover what life is actually for.
Mar Mar Teatro was previously a finalist at the 2024 Premios MAX in the category of best play for children, young people and families with the play "Un pez en el corazón". In Puerto del Rosario, the performance begins at 17:00 at the Auditorio Insular de Fuerteventura on Calle Ramiro de Maeztu. The show lasts around 90 minutes, and admission starts at 3 euros.
