Music festival and Gran Baile de Taifas in Puerto Lajas
At the Fiestas del Pino in Puerto Lajas, several folk groups and a music school come together for a musical gathering, followed by the Gran Baile de Taifas. A Baile de Taifas is a traditional festival in the Canary Islands featuring folk music, dance and traditional costume. Taking part are La Pioná, Araza, La Molina de La Charca, the Escuela de Música de Puerto Lajas, the Rondalla El Campillo and the Parranda Serená. There will also be a tribute to Tomás Cabrera Herrera, a local resident.

The event forms part of the programme of festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pino in Puerto Lajas, which will be celebrated from 6 to 12 October. On Sunday 11 October 2026, the Centro Ciudadano in Puerto Lajas will host the music festival featuring the Gran Baile de Taifas, entitled 'XIV Memorial Horacio Cabrera de León'.
The programme features performances by La Pioná, the Agrupación Folclórica y Cultural Araza, the Agrupación Folclórica La Molina de La Charca, the Escuela de Música de Puerto Lajas, the Rondalla El Campillo and the Parranda Serená. During the evening, Tomás Cabrera Herrera, described as a friend and neighbour from Puerto Lajas, will also be given a special tribute.
The event begins at 19:00 at the Centro Ciudadano in Puerto Lajas, Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura. It is organised by the Comisión de Fiestas de Puerto Lajas 2026, which reserves the right to make changes to times and programme items.
