"This Is Michael" forms part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Festival Mar Abierto and is being staged at the Palacio de Formación y Congresos in Puerto del Rosario. The production has already been performed in several countries across Europe and the Americas and is one of the best-known stage tributes to Michael Jackson.
The programme takes the audience through some of the artist's best-known songs, including 'Billie Jean', 'Thriller', 'Beat It' and 'Smooth Criminal'. The show combines live music on stage with choreographed scenes and a production design that captures the visual style of Michael Jackson's concerts. The performance lasts over two hours.
At the helm of the production is Lenny Jay, who has worked on international Michael Jackson productions and is renowned for his vocal and physical resemblance to the original. A special guest performer is Jennifer Batten, who accompanied Michael Jackson on world tours as a guitarist for more than ten years. She has also worked with Jeff Beck and is regarded as a pioneering electric guitarist.
Admission costs 40 euros.
