At the Teatro Auditorio Agüimes, this edition of 'Agüimes en Cinco Cuerdas' brings together three leading figures of the timple on one stage: Germán López, Benito Cabrera and Domingo Rodríguez 'El Colorao'. The evening is intended as a celebration of the instrument and its ability to express the musical identity of the Canary Islands through a variety of musical languages and sensibilities.
The focus is on the artistic personalities and repertoires of the three musicians, who are described as key figures in the promotion, renewal and further development of the timple. Their different approaches to the instrument come together in a joint concert that combines tradition, creativity and an openness to new timbres.
