The race will take place on 17 and 18 April 2027 in Mogán, Gran Canaria. The classic middle-distance race comprises a 1.9-kilometre swim off the coast of Mogán, a 90-kilometre cycle and a 21-kilometre run. A short triathlon has been announced, consisting of a 1.9-kilometre swim, a 40-kilometre cycle and a 10-kilometre run. According to the organisers, this distance is particularly aimed at people who are new to triathlon.
There will also be a relay competition for teams. This involves a 1.9-kilometre swim off the coast of Mogán, followed by a 90-kilometre cycle on a single-lap circuit, and finally a 21-kilometre run from Playa de Amadores to Puerto de Mogán.
The event website also offers registration for the Challenge Gran Canaria 100 and Challenge Gran Canaria 50. These formats are listed as comprising a 2-kilometre swim, an 80-kilometre cycle and an 18-kilometre run, and a 1-kilometre swim, a 40-kilometre cycle and a 9-kilometre run respectively.
