The Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra's 5th subscription concert will take place in the Sala Sinfónica at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The programme will be performed on two evenings: Thursday 12 November 2026 and Friday 13 November 2026, both at 20:00.

The highlight of the programme is Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1, featuring the violinist Sergei Krylov, who is returning to Gran Canaria for the occasion. The work is regarded as particularly expressive and places high demands on the soloist's virtuosity. The programme notes highlight a broad spectrum of emotions ranging from melancholy and irony to the utmost virtuosity.

The programme also features Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition in Maurice Ravel's orchestration. This version is described as rich in colour and imaginative, and presents the piano cycle as an orchestral work. Karel Mark Chichon will conduct.
