In the concert-talk 'La voz: creatividad y tradición', Julia Rodríguez presents songs from her debut album 'Hacia la vida'. Her own compositions explore how musical heritage, personal experience and the search for one's own voice come together in a shared project. Through her pieces, she also recounts the creative process behind her artistic identity.
The programme combines music and spoken passages to chart a path between roots and new creation. At its heart lies the dialogue between Canary Islands tradition and contemporary musical languages, which Rodríguez develops in her songs.
Julia Rodríguez is from Fuerteventura. She studied jazz singing at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, the flute at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the timple at the Escuela Insular de Música de Fuerteventura. The concert-talk is intended for visitors aged 14 and over and lasts 90 minutes.
