In Agüimes, following a mass, the Virgen del Rosario is carried down from her chapel, accompanied by music from the Susa Suárez ensemble. The descent of the Virgen del Rosario forms part of the programme for the Fiestas del Rosario in Agüimes, which will take place from 18 September to 13 October 2026. The festival programme combines pilgrimages, concerts, religious celebrations and rural traditions in the old town.
On Thursday 1 October 2026, a Mass will begin at 19:00, presided over by Juan Carlos Arencibia Suárez, the rector of the diocesan seminary. Afterwards, the Virgen del Rosario will be brought down from her chapel. This part of the celebration will be accompanied by the music group Susa Suárez.
The event takes place in Agüimes on Gran Canaria and admission is free.
