Feast of the Virgin of the Rosary with a ceremony in Agüimes
A festive Mass will be held in Agüimes to mark the liturgical feast of the Virgen del Rosario, combined with a tribute to Juana María Suárez Vega. The Mass forms part of the Fiestas del Rosario, which Agüimes will be celebrating from 18 September to 13 October 2026. The programme for these festivities includes pilgrimages, concerts, religious ceremonies and rural traditions in the old town.
On Wednesday 7 October, Inocencio Pablo García Ramírez, priest of the parish of San José Obrero in Cruce de Arinaga, will preside over the service. During the Mass, Juana María Suárez Vega will be honoured for her work in the archives in support of migration.
