The Feria Km.0 Gran Canaria will be held in Santa Brígida on 24 and 25 October. The concept behind the series focuses on products grown or produced on Gran Canaria, bringing them to different municipalities across the island. In Santa Brígida, the market will take place in the Parque Municipal, or more specifically at the Parking de Santa Brígida.
The focus is on locally sourced produce and direct contact with producers. The fair sees itself as a showcase for fresh, high-quality island produce and for short supply chains between production and sale. Products on offer include cheese, wine, bread, coffee, baked goods, juices, plants, cochineal, gofio, chorizo, honey, as well as fruit and vegetables.
The series of events also promotes more responsible consumption, fairer trade and support for the local economy. According to the organisers, more than 385 producers from Gran Canaria have taken part in the 40 previous editions. In Santa Brígida, the market is open from 9:00 to 14:00 on both days; admission is free.
