Fireworks for the Virgen del Pilar at Playa de Las Canteras
At Playa de Las Canteras, the festivities in honour of the Virgen del Pilar begin with a fireworks display. This night-time spectacle forms part of the fiestas in the Guanarteme district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and marks their climax. It starts at midnight near the Alfredo Kraus sculpture, next to the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus.

The fireworks display will take place on the night of Sunday 11 October into Monday 12 October, marking the start of the actual Pilar festivities. The venue is the stretch of Playa de Las Canteras beach near the sculpture by Alfredo Kraus, next to the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The event forms part of the 2026 Fiestas de la Virgen del Pilar in the Guanarteme district, which run from 30 September to 12 October. According to the programme, the evening before will continue at the Plaza del Pilar at 22:00 with a verbena by the group Una Más, followed at 23:30 by the Papagüevos' night-time procession. After the fireworks, another verbena featuring the Orquesta Armonía Show is scheduled to take place at the Plaza del Pilar from 0:30.
