The programme is divided into two parts. The first part begins with 'Aurora Awakes' by John Mackey. This is followed by the world premiere of 'Génesis', the tuba concerto by Manuel Bonino, featuring Óscar Santiso Eiroa as soloist. The work consists of three movements: 'Forja de titanes', 'Arquitecto de sombras' and 'Danzas del averno'.
The second part features another work by John Mackey, "Wine Dark Sea". The sections "Hubris", "Immortal Thread, So Weak" and "The Attentions of Soul" will be performed. Conducting the Gran Canaria Wind Orchestra is Borja Romero, who hails from Tenerife and is conducting the orchestra here for the first time.
The concert lasts 75 minutes and takes place in the Sala Sinfónica of the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Admission is subject to a charge; tickets are available from the organiser.
