Imagined Spain: OFGC at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus
This subscription concert by the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria explores Spain's musical landscape centred on the guitar. José María Gallardo del Rey performs Joaquín Rodrigo's «Concierto de Aranjuez» and his own work «Diamantes para Aranjuez», conducted by Oliver Díaz. The programme brings together Spanish and international composers within a distinctly Spanish soundscape. The guitar takes centre stage with Joaquín Rodrigo's “Concierto de Aranjuez”, performed by José María Gallardo del Rey. This is complemented by “Diamantes para Aranjuez”, another work by the soloist.
The evening is rounded off by Turina's “Sinfonía Sevillana” and Ravel's “Alborada del gracioso”. Oliver Díaz will conduct. The concert is the second subscription concert of the season and will take place in the Sala Sinfónica of the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
