The Feria KM.0 Gran Canaria is a travelling market showcasing the island's produce, and it stops off in Santa Brígida. At the venue, farmers, food producers and small businesses sell their goods directly to the public, including cheese, wine, bread, gofio, honey, coffee, pastries, and fruit and vegetables. The event is aimed at anyone who wants to discover local produce from Gran Canaria and shop without the need for long transport routes.
The Feria KM.0 Gran Canaria serves as a showcase for agricultural and food products grown or produced on Gran Canaria. In Santa Brígida, the market takes place in the car parks along the Paseo del Guiniguada and in the area around the Parque Municipal. It is open on the advertised days from 9:00 to 14:00.
Visitors can engage directly with producers and small businesses from the island. Products on offer include cheese, wine, bread, coffee, pastries, juices, gofio, honey, chorizo, fruit and vegetables. Plants, salt and cochineal are also listed on the event website as typical products of the fair.
The event regularly rotates between different municipalities on Gran Canaria. It aims to promote the sale of regional products through short supply chains, strengthen the local economy and consolidate the link between the population and the island's primary sector. According to the organisers, more than 385 producers have taken part in the 40 editions held to date.
