Lecture on the restoration of the statue of the Apostle John
In Agüimes, restorer Miriam Domínguez Oria will talk about the restoration of the statue of the Apostle John. The event will also feature the unveiling of the new drapery for the Throne of the Virgin. The evening is aimed at culture enthusiasts and visitors to the Fiestas del Rosario. Admission is free.
The talk forms part of the Fiestas del Rosario in Agüimes, which will be celebrated in the old town from 18 September to 13 October 2026. The programme for these festivities includes pilgrimages, concerts, religious celebrations and rural traditions.
On Friday 2 October 2026, Miriam Domínguez Oria will take centre stage. She works as a conservator of cultural and sacred heritage and will present the restoration of the statue of St John the Apostle. The new drapery for the Virgin's throne will also be unveiled during the same event.
Admission is free. The event will take place in Agüimes on Gran Canaria.
