The festival runs from 1 to 24 October 2026 and takes place across several venues and towns on Gran Canaria. The programme includes, amongst others, the series África en Movimiento, MASDANZA Junior, MASDANZA Cinema, MASDANZA Dunas, MASDANZA Canarias and MASDANZA Ellas. In addition, there will be the Solos & Coreográfico I and II competitions, a winners' gala with an awards ceremony, professional development sessions, and other events such as MASDANZA Agüimes and MASDANZA Santa Brígida.
Part of the programme takes place outdoors with free admission. Tickets are available for performances in theatres. Competitions and galas can also be watched live via the festival's website. The closing event, the Gala de Clausura, is scheduled for Saturday 24 October 2026 at the Teatro Cuyás. The programme there features the Compañía Daniel Rodríguez performing the piece “Transeúnte”.
MASDANZA was founded in 1996 by the dancer and choreographer Natalia Medina. In 2019, the festival received the EFFE Quality Label from the European Festivals Association and was nominated for an award as the best European dance festival. According to the festival organisers, MASDANZA aims to raise the profile of contemporary dance in the Canary Islands and, through its various event formats, bring it to a wider range of audiences.
