The return of the Virgen del Rosario to her chapel
In Agüimes, following the Mass led by the parish priest, the Virgen del Rosario returns to her chapel. This religious ceremony brings the main part of the Fiestas del Rosario to a close, nine days after the statue of the Virgin Mary was brought down from the chapel. The celebration forms part of the festival programme in the old town and is also suitable for families. Admission is free.
The return of the Virgen del Rosario to her chapel will take place on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at 19:30 in Agüimes, Gran Canaria. The ceremony will follow a Mass led by the parish priest and marks the conclusion of the main part of the Fiestas del Rosario.
There are nine days between the descent of the Virgin and her return. This event brings to a close the central part of the festivities, which will be held in Agüimes from 18 September to 13 October 2026.
The full programme of the Fiestas del Rosario includes pilgrimages, concerts, religious celebrations and rural traditions in the old town of Agüimes. Admission to the return of the Virgen del Rosario is free.
