Soraia Cardoso is regarded as one of the new faces of fado and features in this festival programme with a concert that focuses entirely on expression and the voice. On stage, she will be accompanied by two renowned fado guitarists: Bernardo Saldanha plays the viola de fado, whilst Bernardo Romao plays the Portuguese guitar. Admission costs 15 euros.
Cardoso came to the attention of a wider audience in 2018 when she came third on The Voice Portugal. She was the first fado singer to take fado so far in such a programme. In 2019, she received the 'Female Discovery' award from A Voz do Operário and subsequently began singing in the fado houses of Lisbon.
Since then, she has performed at events including the Santa Casa Alfama Fado Festival, Super Bock em Stock and the Coliseu in Porto. Since 2023, she has been part of Fado sem Fim, a project mentored and produced by Aldina Duarte, which began with a recital at the Fado Museum and later led to the recording of two fados for a collaborative album.
Between 2022 and 2024, Cardoso sang at the Sr. Vinho fado house; today she can be heard at Fado ao Carmo and Fama d'Alfama. In June 2025, she presented her debut album in Lisbon.
