Talks on Mary at the Fiestas del Rosario in Agüimes
The programme for the Fiestas del Rosario in Agüimes includes two talks on Mary and the veneration of Mary. One will focus on Mary's role in the history of salvation, whilst the other will explore the tradition of Marian devotion within the parish. The event forms part of the religious festival programme and admission is free.
The talks form part of the Fiestas del Rosario in Agüimes, which will be held from 18 September to 13 October 2026. The full programme combines pilgrimages, concerts, religious celebrations and rural traditions in the old town.
On Monday 5 October, the programme begins at 19:00 with a talk on the role of Mary in the history of salvation. This will be followed at 19:30 by the talk 'The History of Marian Devotion in Our Parish' by Vicente Mena Santana, a lecturer at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The evening is aimed at visitors with an interest in the religious significance of the Fiestas del Rosario and in the history of Marian devotion in Agüimes. Admission is free.
