Verbena with Una Más and the Papagüevos parade in Guanarteme
The evening begins in the Plaza del Pilar in Guanarteme with a 'verbena', an open-air dance party, featuring the group Una Más. Afterwards, the Papagüevos' night-time parade winds its way through the neighbourhood, accompanied by the Banda Atlántico Sound. The Papagüevos are large-headed festival figures. The event forms part of the Pilar celebrations in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and is also suitable for families.

The evening forms part of the 2026 Fiestas de la Virgen del Pilar in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which will be celebrated from 30 September to 12 October. On the eve of the Pilar festival, the verbena will kick off at 22:00 in the Plaza del Pilar in Guanarteme, featuring the band Una Más.
At 23:30, the night-time procession of the Papagüevos will begin. The large-headed festival figures will be accompanied by the Banda Atlántico Sound. This will be followed at midnight by a fireworks display in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pilar at Playa de Las Canteras, near the sculpture by Alfredo Kraus.
