The free workshop begins at the Museo Casa Roja in Villa de Mazo and will be led by astrophysicist Ana García. She is the founder of AstroLaPalma and LaPalmaStars.com, as well as the organiser of AstroFest La Palma. The event is designed as an introduction to night-time landscape photography.
It will begin with a theory session entitled "¿Qué podemos fotografiar en el cielo? Preparamos nuestro equipo" (What can we photograph in the sky? Preparing our equipment). This will cover what can be photographed in the sky and how to set up your equipment. At 21:30, the practical session will follow, during which the techniques presented will be put into practice.
The workshop is aimed at astro-tourism guides, amateur astronomers and anyone who would like to learn how to photograph the starry sky. Participants will need their own camera capable of at least ISO 3200, a tripod and a remote shutter release. The event will take place at the Museo Casa Roja and in the outdoor area of the building. Participation is free of charge until all places are filled.
The organiser is SODEPAL. The event is funded by the Tourism Department of the La Palma Island Council, with support from the municipality of Villa de Mazo.
