La Piedad Festivities: Manolo el Charro and a dance evening
The Saturday of the Fiestas de La Piedad in La Galga combines a programme of religious celebrations with a concert and an evening of dancing. Following the novena in honour of the Virgin and a procession, Manolo el Charro will perform from 21:00, after which Zebensui Melián will play for the verbena. The evening is intended for visitors to the local fiesta in Puntallana.
The Saturday programme for the Fiestas de La Piedad in La Galga begins at 19:30 with the solemn novena in honour of the Virgin. The singing will be performed by the Escuela de Folklore de Puntallana. This will be followed by a procession with the image, accompanied by the Banda de Música de Puntallana.
From 21:00, the focus shifts to music. Manolo el Charro will perform first. From 22:00, the verbena begins with Zebensui Melián. In the Canary Islands, a verbena is a dance evening held as part of a festival.
The event forms part of the festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora de La Piedad in La Galga, a district of Puntallana on La Palma.
