The stage adaptation by Ángulo Producciones is based on the novel by Meryem El Mehdati, published by Blackie Books. The story centres on Meryem, a 25-year-old born in the Canary Islands with Moroccan roots. She works in a supermarket and, caught between the shelves, everyday life, fan fiction and disastrous dates, grapples with the question of how she can find her own path and her identity.
The production combines elements of a pop musical, drama and dance. It promises live music, choreography and a humorous narrative style. The story explores expectations, self-discovery and coming of age in a present-day world characterised by routine and uncertainty.
The performance takes place at the Teatro Circo de Marte in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Admission costs 12 euros. The production is recommended for ages 12 and over.
