The production is based on the novel "Supersaurio" by Meryem El Mehdati, published by Blackie Books. The story centres on Meryem, aged 25, born in the Canary Islands and of Moroccan descent. She works in the largest supermarket in the Canary Islands and tells herself every morning that she won't inherit the business, even if she sometimes forgets this.
The plot explores her everyday life, featuring fan fiction, disastrous dates, too much coffee and a routine that seems never-ending. In doing so, the play tackles themes such as generational differences, false meritocracy, precarious working conditions, mass tourism and the housing crisis. At its heart lie identity, expectations and the search for one's own path.
The cast includes Lucía Viera Ruano, Mingo Ávila, Alexia Rodríguez, Abraham Santacruz and Delia Santana. The performance at the Teatro Circo de Marte runs from 20:30 to 22:00. Admission costs 20 euros.
