The lecture takes as its starting point the question of whether so-called misbehaviour is not often more a result of a need, difficulties with self-regulation or a different way of perceiving things. Elvira Perejón draws on typical everyday situations and explains what might lie behind certain behaviours in brains that function differently.
The focus is on how the brain works, executive functions, emotional regulation and individual needs. Perejón suggests a shift in perspective: rather than simply asking why a child or young person behaves in a certain way, she focuses on what they need at that very moment.
Elvira Perejón is a teacher, neuropedagogue and expert in neurodiversity and digital wellbeing. She is the founder of Educación Incondicional and author of the book "Educar con cerebro".
The talk lasts 90 minutes and is free of charge; places are limited. Free childcare with 30 places is available during the event for children aged between two and ten. To register, please email [email protected] or call 660 73 26 36.
