Julien Cottereau brings a quiet, imaginative stage performance to the Plaza del Príncipe in Santa Cruz with his character BIBI. Without a single spoken word, he unfolds a whimsical ballet of body language, sounds and poetic moments. This gives rise to an idealistic, absurd circus featuring eccentric performers, timid acrobats, tightrope walkers in love and untameable animals. In this world, time and logic become malleable, whilst laughter and emotion coexist side by side.
'aaAhh BIBI' is being staged as part of the Festival Internacional Clownbaret 2026. Performances are scheduled for Saturday, 10 October 2026, and Sunday, 11 October 2026, with two evening performances on the latter day, at 19:00 and 21:30. The show lasts 70 minutes and is suitable for all age groups.
Cottereau is a clown, mime artist and sound artist. He trained at ENSATT and joined Cirque du Soleil in 1993 as a clown-mime for Saltimbanco, performing in more than 1,500 shows across Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. In 2002, he joined Clowns Without Borders. For his first solo show, “Imagine-toi”, which premiered in 2005, he received the Molière Award for Best Newcomer.
