The afternoon forms part of the 23rd Tensamba Festival, which brings Brazilian culture to the Canary Islands. At Casa Anchieta, the programme begins at 17:00 with the photography exhibition 'Belém do Pará, entre dos tempos' by Glauce Lima. Her photographs explore the streets of the city of Belém do Pará, its contrasts and the presence of Amazonian nature. At 17:30, this is followed by a second exhibition featuring illustrations by Johann Moritz Rugendas, the German painter, draughtsman and engraver who travelled through Brazil in the 19th century.
From 18:00, Julio Du Norte takes over with "El vinilo en la música brasileña". The Brazilian selector and DJ from Tucuruí in the state of Pará, who now lives in Valencia, will take the audience on an analogue journey through Brazil's musical diversity. At 19:30, there will be an installation in honour of Tomi Cruz, whose inspiration lay at the origins of the Tensamba Festival in the Canary Islands.
The evening will conclude at 20:00 with a concert by the Rebeca Mora Trio. Their repertoire ranges from Brazilian popular music, bossa nova and samba to jazz, drawing on influences from Rosa Passos and Elis Regina to Stacey Kent and Ella Fitzgerald. Admission is free for all events. For the last two events, entry is subject to availability. The exhibitions will also remain open until 3 October, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00.
