Camané is one of the best-known voices in Portuguese fado and is coming to La Laguna as part of the Festival de Fado de Canarias. The concert at the Teatro Leal is set to feature songs including 'Sei de um Rio', 'A Complicadíssima Teia', 'A Guerra das Rosas', 'Ela Tinha Uma Amiga' and 'Senhora do Livramento'.
His career has spanned several phases, which also shape the backdrop to this evening's performance. Following the album “Infinito Presente”, which reached number one in the Portuguese sales charts in 2015, he dedicated the album “Camané Canta Marceneiro” to the singer Alfredo Marceneiro. In 2017, he received the Premio Tenco alongside Vinicio Capossela and Massimo Ranieri.
In 2019, Camané released the project “Aqui Está-se Sossegado” with pianist Mário Laginha, which also reached number one in Portugal and was honoured at the Play Awards as Best Album and Best Fado Album. A concert in honour of José Mário Branco, recorded at the Centro Cultural de Belém in early 2024, earned him another Play Award for Best Fado Album and his second Latin Grammy nomination.
The concert begins at 19:00. Seats in the auditorium are numbered. Seats for people with reduced mobility are allocated by the Teatro Leal box office in person or by telephone on 922 265 433. On Sundays, the box office opens two hours before the start of the performance.
