The carnival in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, brings ten days of street festivities to the city centre, featuring parades, galas, competitions, daytime carnival events and long nights of music. The programme is designed for families, carnival enthusiasts and visitors who wish to experience individual stage performances or the carnival in the streets. The street carnival is free to attend, whilst tickets are required for the galas.

The theme is reminiscent of the first edition with a set theme in 1987. The city cites organisational and logistical reasons for the two-week postponement.
