The Casina Raffle: a comedy at the Capitol Auditorium
The Compañía Noite Bohemia is staging the comedy 'El sorteo de Casina' in Tacoronte, featuring intrigue, jealousy and crude humour. The guest performance is part of the amateur theatre exchange programme and is aimed at adults. The performance will take place at the Auditorio Capitol; admission is free.
The story centres on the home of Lisídamo, a miserly old man who has fallen in love with Casina. The young orphan grew up under his roof as a maid. At the same time, his son Eftinico is also in love with the young woman.
Lisídamo tries to achieve his goal by a roundabout way: Casina is to marry his foreman, Olímpico, on the condition that he relinquishes his marital rights to Lisídamo on their wedding night. But Cleóstrata, Lisídamo's shrewd wife, sees through the plan and suggests marrying Casina off instead to Cálino, her son's servant.
As no agreement can be reached, the matter is ultimately decided by lot. The elderly master of the house has no idea that the women of the household have already prepared a counter-plan. Disguises, mix-ups in the dark and false identities drive the plot forward.
The performance by the Compañía Noite Bohemia is part of the amateur theatre exchange programme. It will take place on Saturday, 3 October 2026, at 20:00 at the Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte. Admission is free.
