The production is directed by Francisco Medina Donoso and was created in collaboration with the stage artist Jorge Becker. It takes its starting point from his personal experience: for more than ten years, he has been living with the effects of a virus that has severely impaired his cognitive, physical and visual abilities. Drawing on this situation, the team has developed a performance in the form of a staged play that takes Becker's current reality as its starting point.
A defining feature of the evening is the active participation of the audience. Using their mobile phones, audience members help to determine the order of scenes, songs and actions. In this way, the sequence of events within the performance changes in real time, driven directly by the audience in the auditorium. Following the first performance on Friday, a discussion with the audience is also planned.
The cast includes Jorge Becker, Casandra Day, Ana Manríquez, Rodrigo Velásquez, Álvaro Pizarro and Francisco Medina. The dramaturgy is by Francisco Medina and Nona Fernández. Catalina Devia is responsible for the stage and set design; the music was composed by Daniel Marabolí; and the audiovisual design is by José Miguel Agurto. The project is a co-production by GAM and Teatro Niño Proletario.
The Auditorio de Tenerife recommends this performance for those aged 18 and over. Admission to La Salita begins between 15:00 and five minutes before the performance starts. Once the auditorium doors have closed, no further admission will be permitted. In connection with “Cerebro”, the staged reading “Neva” is also recommended; this is likewise directed by Francisco Medina Donoso and ties in thematically with the evening's artistic programme.
