Chaarts was founded in 2010 at the Schweizer Künstlerhaus Boswil and works with varying chamber music line-ups, which can comprise up to 35 performers. For performances, large orchestral works are arranged for smaller ensembles of between 12 and 19 musicians, whilst smaller formations are expanded in terms of sound. The ensemble is appearing at the Auditorio de Tenerife as part of the chamber music series.
The programme consists exclusively of works by Johann Sebastian Bach. The programme includes the Harpsichord Concerto in D major, BWV 1054; the Concerto in D minor for oboe, violin, strings and basso continuo, BWV 1060; the Viola Concerto in E-flat major, reconstructed from the cantatas BWV 169 and 49; and the Harpsichord Concerto in E major, BWV 1053. After the interval, the programme continues with the Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041, and the Harpsichord Concerto in D minor, BWV 1052.
The evening's performers include Claire Huangci on piano, Dina Heidinger on oboe and David Castro-Balbi as lead violinist. Also performing are Abigel Kralik and Eoin Ducrot on violin, Mathis Rochat on viola, Andreas Fleck on cello and Uxia Martinez Botana on double bass.
Visitors must observe the Auditorio de Tenerife's rules: once the concert has begun, no further admission will be permitted. Admission is restricted to visitors aged six and over.
